About us
Our adventure in coffee began many years ago.
We are a 4th-generation coffee farming family —from farming to exporting and roasting.
In 2014, we decided to restructure our farming business into different divisions. With the help of a partner, and our background we decided to develop a new, more specialized business: K&R Specialty Coffee.
Our business was born with the idea of offering specialty coffee, prepared with different types of processes, stored and packed to preserve quality, with a secondary arm of the business dedicated to handling and logistics.
From the moment the coffee is harvested, our lots of specialty coffees are carefully looked after. They are then classified, hand-picked and subsequently packed for shipment.
Our relationships with our partner coffee farmers are important to us
Since we started our business, we have focused on building and maintaining close relationships with producers of specialty coffees. This allows us to get to know their coffees and together with them we are able to develop processes and strategies to produce a great cup of Panamanian coffee.
More recently what started with a small sample roaster has turned into our roasting business, Verso Coffee.
Maintaining quality control over these coffee from the moment that is picked gives us the opportunity to find unique flavors and therefore tailor coffees to our customers. This is especially important for many small roasters and others in the hospitality industry who aspire to have very particular, high-quality and complex cups. Our close relationship with local farmers allows us to pay fair prices to them all while offer a high-quality product to the consumer.
